im varya, a 24 year old, slavic-american freelancing creative and photographer based in chicago, il.

shooting since the age of 18, my work is fueled by the intersectionality of self identity (often relating to biculturalism), eccentricism, femininity-as it relates to being a woman on and offline, and emotional expression through fashion.

my visual interests include portraiture, documentary style couples shoots, street photography, event photography, and avant garde editorial work.

for me, inspiration comes from real, complex, beautiful people and their stories.

outside of photography, i’m a graduate of depaul university, with bachelor’s degrees in pr & advertising, and psychology, and a masters degree in digital communication & media art, with a concentration in storytelling.
